male club captain - murray baker
I Joined Dec 2015, Like many, I ran to keep fit, but never competed, I had a bike, but that was to get to the shops, maybe a bit further if the weather was nice, and I could swim, well about 4 lengths before needing to stop. I was nervous as I walked into my first free swim session, but I didn't have to be. I was warmly welcomed, and I could see from just this first session that this was an excellent club, so friendly, so engaging and supportive. I taught myself to swim 20 years ago, and now 40 found it quite hard to have to start again. But the swim coaches didn't look down at me, instead gave me what felt like individual instruction despite it being a group session. The run coaching has been equally supportive and encouraging and has progressed me from a lone street runner to having raced against running clubs. More recently, we have a new cycle program using the spin bikes which has improved my cycling already in the few class so far. At the core of the club, is an amazing number of coaches and members who give this club a real sense of family, where everyone is encouraged and supported equally. So to conclude, this great club has given me the confidence and belief to set some very strong goals, which I know I have the best chance in achieving with the support of the coaches and my team-mates of TriSudbury.
