The Sudbury Triathlon
”Probably the best triathlon in the Stour Valley”

On Sunday 16th June 2024, TRISudbury will be hosting a day of triathlon for all the family.

The morning will feature a Sprint Distance Triathlon, part of the British Triathlon Eastern Region Adult League.

The Sudbury Triathlon is one of the most competitive yet inclusive and family friendly events in the region, it is the triathlon for you regardless of whether you are new to triathlon or keen to lock down a sprint triathlon PB.

Swim 400 metres in the newly refurbished, heated open air pool at Great Cornard Leisure Centre.

Cycle a 23km loop following the Stour from Cornard to picturesque Bures and its Dragon before returning via the orchards of Assington and golfers of Newton Green.

Run 5km almost entirely off-road taking in the stunning scenery of the Great Cornard Country Park before returning to the leisure centre and our traditionally well supported finish line.

Relay, Aquabike (swim/bike) and Aquathlon (swim/run) options will also be available whilst a junior sprint triathlon (age 15-19 at 31st December 2024) will run alongside the adult event.

The afternoon will be for those aged 8-14 at 31st December 2024 with TriStart, TriStar1, TriStar2 and TriStar3 events all starting with a swim in the leisure centre pool and including off-road bike and run legs in the playing fields surrounding the leisure centre.

All finishers will receive a medal and adults will also receive a technical t-shirt, which is included in the entry fee. There will also be trophies for 1st, 2nd and 3rd places in the open and female categories and relay teams as well as for both open and female age category winners, age categories being 19 and under, 20-29, 30-39, 40-49, 50-59 and 60 plus.

Please be aware that the Sudbury Triathlon is run under British Triathlon Competition Rules, a copy of which is available online, please take the time to read them through.

Entrants will receive more detailed information regarding start times and event instructions via e-mail nearer the event date.
